Lavash Crackers
A hidden stash of Lavash crackers are perfect or when holiday guests arrive unannounced. This recipe is easy enough to make with your children and tasty enough that you will need a big jar. Big. Make these crackers in large quantities, break by hand and smother with dip. YUM!
Steps:
-
Dissolve the yeast in an egg shell filled with lukewarm water.
-
Combine all ingredients, with the exception of the water. Make a well in the center and gradually add water to the mix until a dough is formed. Be mindful not to add too much water here or your dough will become sticky. If this happens, add a little extra flour.
-
Dust a work bench with a little extra flour and knead dough for about 15 mins
-
Leave for an hour and allow to rise.
-
Cut dough into two even pieces and roll each half into a thin sheet. Place on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Lightly sprinkle with water and rub gently across surface before sprinkling with your spices.
-
Bake for about 12-15 minutes at 175'C / 340'F. Crackers should be golden brown.
-
Remove from oven and allow to cool.
-
Break into pieces and serve with dip.
-
Eat. Mmmm...very moreish.
