2015 Onion Awards (epic parenting fails)
Let's face it, we all have those days when a sleep-deprived haze sets in and we say or do things that we aren't proud of. This page is not for bragging about your best parenting moments or for telling the world about little Bobby, who can speak three languages at the age of 2. Oh no. This page is for all those moments. The moment that you realised your sweater is covered in baby vomit or your toddler curses in the school carpark. This page is for the moments that we'd rather forget!
It's not about pointing the finger of blame or judging parents. Let's just admit that we aren't perfect ourselves, have a laugh, dust ourselves off and start over.

Having moved inter-state a few months earlier, I was sitting outside on our front verandah, on what I thought was a "pupil-free day". I sipped my coffee leisurely, thinking about how funny it was to see kids walking past wearing their uniforms. Obviously they were off to after-school care for the day. My kids were still flat out in bed. After about ten minutes, I pondered over the sheer number of kids in "after-school" care. A quick google check later, and I realised that it wasn't actually a pupil-free day at our new school! Eeeek! Half an hour later, I franticly dropped my kids to school.

When NOT to DIY
Renovating a bathroom is always an exciting process! Our next step was to choose the tap ware, so I headed off to Masters with my 11 month old. I chose all the tap ware I needed and headed back to the car. I quickly popped my goodies into the car and turned to find that my baby - who was safely seated in his pram, had disappeared! I went into an absolute panic, thinking my child had been kidnapped. I frantically ran around the car trying to find him, only to see him rolling down the car park in his pram! I had forgotten to put the brake on and the wind had pushed his pram away! I have never forgetten to put the pram brake on since that day!
